Height Sure are industry leaders in high-level commercial glazing services.  We pride ourselves in taking on the most complex glazing tasks, confidently overcoming challenging access requirements, and delivering projects safely and effectively with minimal impact.

Innovative glazing systems are deployed ever more frequently in our modern built environment.  Beneath sprawling canopies, through vast atriums, to towering curtain walls, structural glass has become integral to providing natural light and high thermal performance, while presenting impressive architectural concepts.

It is essential that our glazed environment performs its structural duties to the highest standards.  This performance relies on effective design, high-specification manufacturing, and millimetre accuracy installation.  When a glazing unit – or glazing system – fails, it is imperative that the issue is resolved quickly and safely to protect the people and environment within.

HIGH LEVEL COMMERCIAL GLAZING WITH ROPE ACCESS

At Height Sure we have repeatedly observed that traditional methods of high-level access are often unsuitable for reactive glazing repairs.  The cost and time to install scaffolding increases exponentially as access is required in higher or more complex areas, as does the footprint taken up by this temporary access method.  Powered access machines (e.g. cherry pickers; scissor lifts) are restricted by maximum height capabilities, and ground suitability.  A machine may have the reach, but be unsuitable due to underground services, basements or car parks.

Rope access will regularly present the most cost-effective solution to difficult-access glazing work.  The key benefits are:

  • Rapid Deployment:  Our glazing technicians are trained to IRATA standards, and are selected for their excellence in complex rigging techniques.  No matter how challenging the access requirements, we enjoy a proven record of finding the solution.  Rope access teams are deployed at a fraction of the cost and time required to install scaffolding.

  • Minimal Disruption:  Rope access provides a ‘light-touch’ means of access.  Where scaffolding requires a large ground footprint and regular structural tie-ins to the building, rope access removes the need for penetrations into the façade, and ground impacts are usually reduced to an exclusion zone of relatively modest dimensions.  In some instances we can eliminate the requirement for road or pavement closures.  In all but exceptional circumstances, the day-to-day activities of your building will remain unaffected.

  • Versatility:  Rope access rigging techniques can permit 360 degree access to all elevations of a structure.  In spaces such as internal atriums, where placement of powered access machines is impossible, our technicians use advanced climbing techniques and structural elements to gain access to the most remote areas of your building.

  • Safety:  Height Sure boasts an exemplary safety record.  Our work activities are planned meticulously to practically eliminate the risk of injury to our technicians, our site colleagues, and members of the public.  Our safe working practices reduce the likelihood of damage or disruption to your building.  Our rope access glazing technicians are trained in glass handling, use of vacuum glass lifters, and powered winches.  Every glass lift we undertake is supported by a robust, site-specific, fully documented lifting plan.

Height Sure bring all the above factors to any glazing project.  Our services include (but are by no means limited to):

  • Glazing surveys

  • Glazing refurbishment projects

  • Glazing unit replacement, at any height

  • Curtain wall and atrium servicing and refurbishment

  • Glass-to-glass mastic application

  • Cleaning and maintenance

  • Emergency reactive glazing repairs, including temporary boarding
